The Language Week at Morfosis was lively and truly interesting. It showed how tradition and modern approaches can be seamlessly combined to help children better understand the world around them. The emphasis was on two languages - Russian and Greek - which became more than just school subjects for the students, but a way to get to know different cultures.
Throughout the week, the children participated in various activities where they could express themselves. Particularly memorable were the short theatrical skits and a recitation competition – this was where the children really shone. Project work was also a big part of the program: students explored interesting topics and shared their ideas.
We worked individually to identify similarities between Russian and Greek. The children identified similar words, noticed structural similarities, and discussed how cultures intersect. This made language learning more understandable and even exciting.
Ultimately, Language Week demonstrated something simple: language is not just rules and words, but a way to better understand each other and feel a connection between people.
